After a domain that is either In-Application or In-Registry is successfully challenged, it will pivot to a new stage called Voting Commit.
In the Voting Commit stage, adToken holders can vote to either Support or Oppose the domain’s eligibility to be included In-Registry.
adChain uses the Partial Lock Commit Reveal Voting (PLCR) system. PLCR is based on the concept of voting by Token Weight and so adToken must be used to vote with. A unique feature of PLCR is that voters can vote with the same tokens in as many polls as they want to, at the same time!
The amount of adToken used to vote with determines the voting impact or “weight” a voter will have. The more adToken that is committed to a vote, the more influence a voter will have, and vice versa.
After committing a vote, you are prompted to download a JSON File. The JSON file is where your Commit, Challenge ID, and Secret Phrase are stored. You will need either your JSON File OR your Secret Phrase AND Challenge ID to reveal your vote in the next stage called, Voting Reveal, so keep them in a safe and secure place!
The Secret Phrase is a Hash (also known as a Salt) that is used to reveal the vote in the next phase (Voting Reveal) and safeguards against Bandwagoning.
WARNING: You need your JSON file and/or your Salt to reveal your vote! Do not lose it or you will not be able to reveal.
